This is a difficult disorder and information for the spouse is hard to find. This website is very helpful resources for understanding my wife's behaviour and what was happening in our marriage. The articles are well writen and from credible sources. The community discussions are more intelligent and informed than I would have expected on a message board.
I am very impressed with the resources and the supportive atmosphere at Facing the Facts. It is a valuable resource for people trying to navigate a relationship with a parent with BPD.
I found the article describing the BPD relationship and the phases it goes through very insightful - it brought clarity to what can be a very confusing situation/relationship. I particularly liked the fact that a "partner" article from the perspective of the BPD was included. This article was part of a series of articles found on Facing the Facts Web site - what a great resource to be discovered!
If you are married to a borderline person this message board is a must - people here understand and know what they are talking about. Great site!
This site was a godsend to me, and my life. I went there so confused, and depressed. The site became more than a place to help me deal with my ex, it became a personal journey into myself, and why I allowed the horrible treatment continue. It turned me around to look and change myself, so I could live a happy life. 2 years later, I am happy and living the way I always wanted to, and feeling confident in the person staring back at me when I look into the mirror. I came to this site to work on her, and worked on me instead. I am the only person in this world I can change, and the only person that can give myself happiness. I owe my life to this site.
A great place to find support and info on a little understood problem that affects millions of people.
I thought this place was VERY helpful and informative. I believed for a long time that "I" was the problem. To find out it wasn't all my fault and that there was a explanation for the craziness was a real relief. If you live your life as though you were walking on eggshells, then I suggest you check this place out...
This is an amazing site with a wealth of information. Add to that the helpful staff of volunteers who really care about the members and you have a great resource for help.
I have found this website, the articles and the posts from other members absolutely invaluable in helping me understand what happened to me in my relationship with someone with borderline personality disorder. It speeded up my healing tremendously. The site is well managed by volunteers who work hard to make sure that it maintains its integrity. Anyone who has been affected by someone with bpd - be it spouse, boy/girl friend, friend, parent or child should access this site.
Great article!
There is so much information about bpd and other related disorders at this site and the staff and members really try to work with each new person and steer them to appropriate resources and support. It's really a great site. I'm so glad I found them.
Living with someone who has this disorder is so confusing and I felt I was so alone. I just happened to find this community and for once, I didnt feel like I was the only person who had these awful problems. I got stronger and I am back on my feet again.
This site really helped improve my relationship with my adult daughter. There were people there who understood and cared, and didnt judge her or me. Its truly been a lifesaver!!
This site truly changed my life AND my marriage. When I came here, I was deeply depressed..my spouse was miserable with our horrendous communication and we felt we had no where to turn. He got into therapy for his BPD and I came here..I learned so much about communication from this site, and today, we are doing very, very well!
If you have anyone in your life with this disorder, joining Facing the Facts will help you a lot. The support I have received from the other members has been invaluable and the information that is available is excellent.
Great site. Cudos to those who run it and participate in it. It is a very warm and professional message board. By far the best I have even been a part of.
This is an excellent support community. If you have someone in your life with a personality disorder - this is an excellent resource for you.
This is a very well run site/community. The members work hard to teach and reinforce healthy approaches to dealing with traumatic situations.
