There's a useful, though limited collection of residential facilities identified in this web site. They all seem beautiful though they're mostly in rural areas. That's probably part of the treatment - getting away from urban stresses. Most of the web sites I browsed through for individual facilities didn't identify costs or discuss payment plans, though of course you can always call for information. And there are links on this site to national organizations where you can get more information about additional treatment options. I didn't get a sense of the overarching mission of the American Residential Treatment Association from the Web site and I was curious about that.

This doesn't begin to list all of the residential treatment facilities and doesn't include costs. You might want to check the list, but also be sure to call your local mental health center, local NAMI affiliate or another good local source to find residential facilities in your area, who they accept, how admission works, cost and whether they accept Medicaid or Medicare, what the credentials are of people who work there,what license(s) they hold and who they are licensed by. Research carefully -- there are still some bad ones out there!
